Description
The mission of Robotics Club mission is to provide an after school program that introduces middle school youth to robotics design. The club is to inspire student’s interests in science, technology, engineering and math by engaging them in a program that encourages innovative out-of-the-box thinking, and foster well-rounded life skills, such as self-confidence, time management, communication, teamwork and leadership. Members will be challenged to build and program robots using Lego EV3 Mind Storm kits to solve basic, intermediate, and advance leveled activities.

Criteria for Membership
Any Memorial School student in good academic standing can be a member of the Robotics Club. No prior building or programming experience is required.

Involvement Expectation
As an active club member, you are expected to attend as many meetings as possible and participate in the design challenges for that particular meeting. Attending robotics club and doing non-club related activities are not acceptable.

Advisor Biographies
Mr. Michaels is an advisor of the robotics club. He is a Technology and Construction teacher at the High School for the past 9 years. Before teaching, he worked 13 years as a Mechanical Engineer. He has been involved with the club for 3+ years.
Mr. Zygnerski is another advisor of the robotics club. He is a Chemistry teacher at the High School and has been teaching Chemistry for 10+ years. He is highly involved in many aspects of the Maker Movement, including 3D printing, Electronics, and Design. He has been involved with Lego robotics for 2 years.
