Student Government typically meets the second Monday of each month from 2:20-3:00.
The club also hosts and assists in many community events. Please refer to the "Club Calendar" for more information.

Description
The Student Council is a year long club that allows students the opportunity to have a voice in the decisions that affect school climate and activities. Student representatives decide welcome incoming 6th graders during orientation, decide on and track participation in weekly Spirit Days, organize, setup and run dances, run Respect Week activities, and take charge to lead our Door Decorating contests. Members are also responsible for running, inventory, and selling of items within the school store. Yearly, the MC Foods Drive is solely handled by student representatives and officers.

I get to use the school’s loudspeaker and not get in trouble for it, we get to help arrange the school dances with what props we buy, and what type of theme it is going to be. If you don't like the way the dances are going, because I know a lot of them complain, join the student council and do something about it. You can be a class representative, secretary, treasurer, vice president, and president. Run for school office in 2016."
Criteria for Membership
All members of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades are welcome to hold a representative position for their respective advisory, but the officer positions are limited to 7th and 8th graders, as elections are held in June of the prior academic year.
Involvement Expectation
All students should be in good academic standing, have a positive attitude, and be comfortable speaking in front of a large group of students. There are many responsibilities that come with the club, so students should have a good handle on multitasking, organization, and communication!
Advisor Biographies
Mrs. Glassen is a science teacher who has been working with the Student Council for 3 years. She is an active member who excels in using Google Classroom to communicate with the student body. She is open to ideas and welcomes student input regularly.
Mrs. Fallon is a special education teacher who has been instrumental in developing new ideas and implementing programs that have enhanced the already popular student council. She is friendly and approachable, making her a great resource for student representatives who are looking to make a difference.
